The cheapest electric skateboards in the Verreal range are the F1 Max and the Mini, both from $329 with a 4Ah battery. They are worth buying if your trips are short. If you ride farther, the cheapest board per kilometer is not the $329 one: the F1 Max with the 15Ah battery is $569 for a rated 55 km (34 mi), which is less than half the cost per kilometer.
This guide shows what each low price buys, where a cheap board makes sense, and what to check before you spend any money.

The cheapest board is not the cheapest per kilometer
The $329 F1 Max and Mini cost about $23.50 per km of rated range. Moving up to the F1 Max 10Ah ($459) lowers that to about $11.47 per km, and the 15Ah ($569) lowers it to about $10.35 per km. You pay $130 more for the 10Ah battery and get nearly three times the range.
The airline-friendly 92.5 Wh battery is the other extreme: at $359 and 9 km (5.6 mi), it is the highest cost per kilometer in the table. It exists for travel, not for value. We cover it in our commuting guide.
When a cheap electric skateboard is worth it
- Your trips are short. A 14 km (8.7 mi) rated range suits a short campus or neighborhood ride, with a margin for hills and speed.
- You want a first board. The F1 Max has three speed modes (20, 30 and 40 km/h), a Hobbywing ESC and a stable concave deck. See our best electric skateboards for beginners.
- You need something light. The F1 Max is listed at 7.5 kg (16.5 lb) and the Mini at 7 kg (15.4 lb).
- You can add range later. Replacement and larger battery packs are sold in the batteries collection, for example the 10Ah pack for the F1 Max and Mini at $299 (pack only).
When a cheap board is not the right choice
- You weigh more than the limit. The F1 Max and the Mini are both rated for 100 kg (220 lb). The RS family is rated for 150 kg (330 lb).
- Your commute is long. Buy the biggest battery you can afford instead of the smallest.
- You want power for big hills or rough roads. The F1 Max and Mini list 350W peak per motor (700W total) and ride on 90mm wheels. The RS family uses dual belt motors and accepts wheels from 90mm PU up to 165mm Rover.
- You want to ride in the rain. Verreal states the Mini is not waterproof, and water damage is not covered by warranty on any Verreal board.
Checklist before buying any cheap electric skateboard
- Find the watt-hours. If a listing shows only volts or amp-hours, multiply them. A listing that shows neither is a warning sign.
- Read the rider weight limit. Do not guess.
- Look for a named ESC brand. The ESC controls acceleration and braking. The F1 Max and Mini use Hobbywing ESCs.
- Read the warranty. Verreal gives 180 days on motors, ESC and remote, battery pack and charger.
- Check the return policy. Electric skateboards cannot be returned because of battery shipping restrictions, so ask questions before you order.
- Check parts and support. Wheels, belts and bearings wear out. See which parts the seller sells and what support they offer.
- Add shipping and duties. Import duties and taxes are the customer's responsibility. See our shipping information.

The Verreal F1 Max and Mini with the 4Ah (144 Wh) battery list 14 km (8.7 mi). Their pages note that actual range varies with terrain, wind and rider weight.
Is it worth paying more for a bigger battery?
Usually yes. On the F1 Max, the 15Ah battery costs $240 more than the 4Ah and gives about four times the rated range.
Can I buy a cheap board and upgrade it later?
You can buy larger battery packs and wheel sets as accessories. Check compatibility with your model before you order, and contact our team if you are not sure.
